L.O.C. Method

Many naturals are familiar with the L.O.C. Method that helps to seal the moisture in your hair. I swear my this method and it is indeed the BEST method for preventing breakage thus maintaining length all while having the right balance of moisture maintained. If you are not already using this method, try it today.

Basically L.O.C. Means Liquid or Leave-in, Oil and Cream. I have nicknamed it the “Loving Our Coils” Method because that is exactly what we are doing when we are using very specific regimens when caring for our fabulous hair. When we are keeping our hair moisturized it helps to reduce breakage and we are all tryig to get that mid-back length hair right? Well even if you are not, you want your hair looking as healthy and beautiful as possible.

Here is how I use the L.O.C. Method

  1. Cleanse My Hair
  2. Then use a rinse out conditioner (if it is your week to deep condition your hair then do so)
  3. De-tangle hair while cleansing and conditioning
  4. Spray Alikay Naturals Lemongrass Conditioner Leave-In Conditioner
  5. Do additional de-tangling if needed and put hair into sections. I usually do 4 sections.
  6. Add a small amount of Olive Oil to each section
  7. Add Alikay Naturals Shea Yogurt to each section
  8. Put hair into two-strand or flat twist
  9. Allow hair to air dry.

I typically go 7-10 days between shampoos and I allow my hairstyle to transition as the week progresses. I’ll wear my hair twisted for a few days, then rock a twist out, after that fluff the twist a bit for bigger hair for a day or two, then wear a puff, later in the week I may pin my hair into an updo, after that I may throw on a cute tam or scarf and keep it moving.

Don’t let all of the steps overwhelm you, I promise that it is not that difficult. It’s our choice how we want to care for our hair. Try it at least once and if you want to do it; then do it. If not; then don’t. I use Alikay Naturals products with this method because that is what I love for my hair. O.M.G. the Lemongrass grass leave-in works wonders. It is great for de-tangling, adding moisture, and I love to use it to just spritz a daily shot of moisture to my hair. The Shea Yogurt leaves my hair feeling like a cloud. I am telling you what I use and this is not a sponsored post. I am not getting paid to review this brand. They just have a wonderful product line. With that being said, you do not have to use Alikay Naturals to do this method. Alternately you may use any leave-in conditioner (I prefer a Liquid form of leave-in), there any many different oils that you can use (coconut, almond, etc.) and any cream based product ( I prefer something that is Shea based) to do this method and you will yield the same results.
